  5. *** INTRODUCTION:
  6. This is a shell-script that run any game rebooting your computer..
  7. Examples...games that needs 2Mb of free chip-memory like Capital punishment Wendetta etc
  8.            games that dont like run from workbench ...
  9.            games that dont like run with best chipset option like monkey island 1 & 2
  10.            games that dont like 040/060 caches activated
  11.            games that dont like your CyberGraphX or P96 driver
  12. *** REQUERIMENTS
  13. 1:WORKBENCH 3.0+ (correctly installed)
  14. (this scripts works fine in all configs and cpus 020,030,040,060)
  15. (also PowerPC-cards)
  16. (UAE not tested)
  17. 2:1Mb fast memory
  18. ***LAST CHANGES IN VERSION 4.1
  19. -added an alternate-startup-sequence for those stranges games
  20. -added more examples
  21. *** NEW V4 FEATURES
  22. -you can change the path of the dir of your game and REBOOT-START run without problems !
  23. -Simplify the scripts..only put the name of the executable of the game..!!
  24. -You can force the game tu run in PAL or NTSC...see REBOOT-START script
  25. -You can degrade your system if needed...see REBOOT-START script.
  26. -full Amiga-DOS friendly.
  27. -if you have a CD-Writer you can copy any game to a cd and run it directly
  28. -no requesters or bad assigns like other programs
  29. -Reboot-Start not remove your rom3.1 mapped in fast memory or residents like Idefix
  30. -FREEWARE !
  31. *** INSTALLATION (by hand)
  32. 1 copy clicknot,getpath,reset,bootcontrol,remrad  => to your c directory...IMPORTANT..!!!
  33. 2 copy rad1 and rad1.info => to your SYS/Storage/DOSDriver/s....REAL IMPORTANT..!!
  34. 3 copy ramdrive.devce to your devs directory
  35. 4 copy REBOOT-START and REBOOT-START.info => to the dir of your game..
  36. 5 copy supplied STARTUP-SEQUENCE => to the dir of your game ..
  37. 6 edit STARTUP-SEQUENCE and put the name of the executable of your game in the correct
  38. place...!!
  39. 7 * you can edit REBOOT-START script too to change Bootcontrol's options
  40. (*) Optional :with Boot-Control you can force any game to run in PAL or NTSC or
  41. force to run with OLD and ECS chipset...see Reboot-Start-script
  42. DEFAULT:PAL & BEST chipset
  43. *** USAGE
  44. After you procced with INSTALLATION steps..
  45. Go to the dir of your game and doubleclick REBOOTSTART...Thats all...!!!!
  46. *** PROBLEMS
  47. If you have a game that dont work or after reboot you see a stupid requester that
  48. say "INSERT RAM0 IN ANY DRIVE" ..you must edit the supplied alternate-startp-sequence
  49. "ALTERNATE-STARTUP-SEQUENCE"..put the game-executable in the correct place and rename it as
  50. "STARTUP-SEQUENCE"
  51. Then copy to the dir of your game..
  52. Thats all
  53. PLEASE NOTE that the Alternate-startup-sequence is a bit diferent from the common:
  54. 1:your Amiga will reset twice
  55. 2:all residents will be lost even your mapped rom3.1
  56. ***EXPERT-USAGE
  57. if you have a cd-writer (I have one) you can copy any game to a CD and run from WB
  58. there's a supplied file named "mountcdrom" => edit it and copy to devs..
  59. this file will mount your CDROM after your miggy reboot
  60. My "mountcdrom" file only says: Mount CD1:
